Collection 1 is a cartridge, but Collection 2 is a DLC voucher for those who care. The PS4 version has both collections as physical discs respectively (more than $20 though).

Thanks. I shall pass for the PS4. This is the Incomplete edition, I dare say.

$4.34 more for faster loading times and a physical copy on my PS5 was worth it to me. Thanks for the info and repped!
Research the lag on these to make sure you know what you're getting. PS4 is apparently even worse but the Switch version also has excessive lag not in the original version.
Despite having essentially the same presentation and extras, interesting to note that part 1's Metacritic score is 84 and part 2's is 60. There was... a bit of a drop-off in the quality of the games themselves.
That said, it's a shame that X8 came after the X series had essentially petered out, making it little-remembered. I felt it was an underrated return to form, and probably the best game of the second set. Boy, did I hate the "save NPCs before they're killed offscreen" mechanic of X6 and X7 (among their other issues).
Anyway, X1-X4 are true action platforming classics, and I'm going to play them as soon as I get a second.
