You can get another ASM2464 based enclosure on Ebay like an Acasis for $50 right now. Only get this if you really want the built in cable. https://ebay.us/m/iTRBqJ

I just got one of these Acasis enclosures for my wife's M4 Mac Mini and it works exactly like advertised, bought it before they had the coupon discount code but even at $59.33, I'm very happy with the purchase.

The Air is a frequently returned item on Amazon, not sure why or if it matters at all; maybe people buy it for their usb-c laptops not seeing it's Thunderbolt only.

Anyway, on eBay it is $7 less but ships from Shenzhen.

It's a quality question - the ACAIS doesn't cool the unit as well as this one, which is fairly highly regarded. But if thermal cooling from sustained loads aren't an issue, I totally agree - ACAIS is a better bang for the buck. But - a couple models are flagged as frequently returned, some quality issues mentioned in reviews for those variants.

That said, if someone wants quality and is willing to spend, this might be a better option. Amazing passive cooling, the whole thing is a big heatsink. Some think it's weird looking, but I think it looks cool. Regularly goes on sale for $100, sometimes on Amazon, sometimes on their website.
