DCS391B. Brushed version which is arguably less desirable but for $70 it may be worth it for someone doing lighter DIY stuff.

I can't suggest the brushed saw. It shouldn't really even exist. This thing barely has power to cut through one sheet of half inch plywood, once through, with a 2ah battery.

Echoing this, this imo isn't even worth $50. Couldn't even sell it on FB Marketplace, had to give it away.

I purchased this model about 3-4 years ago for $99 and it made me want to find my old corded and deal with the cord tangling around my legs in the cramped workspace.

It did seem to get bogged down easily. It was pretty disappointing.

Not to argue much for this saw, but you definitely shouldn't be using a 2ah battery to run a circ or recip saw. There just isn't enough current available to do any high draw tool like this justice.

I definitely would steer most people towards the brushless versions regardless with the caveat of using a larger battery, like at minimum a single row 21700 cell (slim 3ah or 4ah) or dual row 18650 cells (5ah).

Thanks for some people chipping in their feedback .I probably would have jumped on the deal but all I have is the 2 ah batteries that I'm planning to use . Pass this time...

Is this thing any worse?

Because I can easily cut through 2x6 pressure treated/soaked wood.

A lot of suggestions on table saw etc, but circular saw is super convenient and portable.

I have this saw and it's very disappointing no matter what size battery i use. My friend has the larger dcs570 and it's a much better saw.

Any helpers, please chime in ..I purchased this Ridgid on clearance, $55 but wasn't sure Since, it brushed and u guys are talking about power. I don't need it and can take it back, still nib. Just need constructive advice about it because I do want a good one by the end of the year and wondering if battery or corded is best (home diy use.)

I have it and I like it for my use small DIY stuff. I'm using the 20v max big battery on it because I don't want to start ie a 4th battery charger- rigid systems. I won't argue thick plywood isn't its forte. I can get out my cheap corded if I need that. Usually I am only cutting pine with it.
