The fittings on this hose are aluminum. If you have brass fittings on hose bibs or accessories, beware of galvanic corrosion that can basically fuse these metals together. Or just disconnect when not in use.
Honestly I'm done buying these.

Yes, they are the best performing hose and they are great. But unless you are using them in a cleanroom indoors, they turn into a sticky, crappy, unfixable mess after a very short period of time.

Mold and everything else.

Anyone know if Flexzilla has a similar water hose with brass fittings?
Guess you could always cut them off and put new ends.

The gorilla one at home depot is the same but black and gray. Color is the only reason I went with gorilla. Also 10y warranty. Maybe lifetime. I forgot.
Is it actually similar? I've never seen one in person, photos of the gorilla toughlite do not look like the "gummy" texture of filezilla (not sure how to describe it lol), but if they behave similarly I may go for that one.

It's certainly a soft gummy texture.

The employee there, who owns a flexzilla, told me the gorilla one is basically the same thing and he recommended that over the continental.

He said the continental is tough and will last long but it's heavy and annoying.

Seeing lot of reviews about mold on these... is that a concern?

Get a Gilmore medium duty instead. Cost less without a sale and handles 250 PSI vs Flexzilla's 150.

Anyone know of a lead-free hose that would be good for the garden?
Flexzilla is what I use for gardening. I make every effort to avoid 'extra' chemicals going into the soil. I also use the Gorilla Easy Connect 'Low-Lead' connectors in an effort to reduce toxins. They also make a SS set as well I have been wanting.

Why on earth does it matter? Household water pressure should be WELL under 100 psi, and closer to 50-60 most places.

I lost my 30 craftsman hoses in the divorce.

I concur with the other poster about the mold. See the photo of mine. You can barely see the tubing, right? It is that bad. Yes, I use it outdoors but the manufacturer doesn't say you can only use it indoors, right? Also what do you do with a 100 ft water tubing indoors? Some Amazon reviews mention a substance called "phthalates" which contributes to both health issues and also this mold. This is a sticky mold, the stuff you get on your hands all over.
I won't say this is a bad hose to use, if you know what you are dealing with. For my family, I only use it for its longevity (exposed to sunlight 365 days a year) to divert rainwater away from the rain barrel at the base of our house. It works as I expected but I don't expect to grab it at all. I just leave it on the ground for it to do its job. When I handle it, I put on gloves. I don't drink any water from it either. That's all.

Bought a 100' Craftsman rubber hose in 1997. Still works great. Our Costco commercial hose has been sitting outside in the back for 20 years and I just replaced the brass end last week. I wish the nozzles lasted a quarter of that time.
If I recall, the older Flexzillas would flash off and the green would become sticky. I'm sure they fixed that by now.
My in-laws had a 3/4 inch red farm hose. I think they sell them at Harbor Freight and Menards. Those are indestructible. They get run over by horses, tractors, and large pick ups. And they're reasonable, but can get heavy like the rubber hoses.

That's back when Goodyear rubber made them for Sears. Even the new Goodyear rubber hoses still made by goodyear aren't what they used to be and some of the Goodyear hoses you find are just licensed products made by other companies.

I have (3) 50 footers. Yup. Once you try these black hoses "you never turn back".

I have the costco hose which is very disappointing. Costco always sells good stuff but they laid an egg with that one.
