I used to drink Alani Nu (good flavors) but recently read a medical study about erythritol and its effects on the cardiovascular system and the brain. No thanks, not worth the risk. Alani Nu and Celcius both contain it. Multiple others do not -- Reign, Zoa, Ghost. Read here and decide for yourself: https://www.physiology.org/detail...alth?SSO=Y. There's an earlier study from 2023 and another in 2024 done at the Cleveland Clinic that also found negative effects of erythritol: https://newsroom.clevelandclinic....cular-risk.

Thanks for this. I also read something about harmful effects in taurine. Wondering your thoughts on that?

There's only one study that came out that linked taurine to leukemia growth, but it was a limited one not conducted with human subjects. Since taurine has other studies suggesting it's beneficial to health (it is an amino acid), I'd say there's no definitive proof that it's harmful.

What about soda and fast food on its effect on the cardiovascular system?

So I've read both these studies, and i am very curious as how any1 is providing any credibility to this WHEN THERE ARE LITERALLY INFINITE UNCONTROLLED FACTORS/VARIABLES????? Absolutely no information is shared about diet, previous/current diseases(INCLUDING HEART HEALTH), nor ANYTHING ELSE. It is literally a study purely to promote the sugar industry.
As you have MD in ur tag, why are you ignoring all of this?
Also SO MANY PEOPLE DROWN IN 0 CAL/ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS SO WHY ARE THEY NOT ALL DROPPING DEAD????
Again, these "studies" are pure propaganda for sugar industry/products, and you posting this is fear mongering 100%.
If any1 didnt read the first study done by this group, IT WAS 8 PEOPLE WITH LITERALLY 0 INFORMATION PROVIDED ON VERY IMPORTANT CONTRIBUTING FACTORS.
I also want to add BOTH of the studies ONLY SAY "MAY CAUSE" CLOTTING. NOT ONCE COULD THEY CONCLUDE ANYTHING BECAUSE THEY ARE HORRENDOUS STUDIES ☠️☠️☠️☠️
What about soda and fast food on its effect on the cardiovascular system?
It's not good, obviously, but you can avoid all of it, actually, or just consume it sparingly. The answer to most nutrition questions is "moderation" unless there's something inherently dangerous. There's nothing wrong with sugar if consumed in lower quantities -- our bodies literally run on glucose. Ditto for salt, which is critical for our cells. Soda and fast food have excessive amounts of both, though, but they do taste dang good.
I'm not a doctor, just a trained and experienced analyst who doesn't want to die prematurely or painfully. Now that I'm a little older, I can definitely tell when I've made poor nutrition choices or drink a little too much, etc. When you're young, your body can handle a wider variety of mistakes. Those mistakes take a bigger toll later on!
