Not any difference besides age, but more recently Dewalt rebranded XR. One of the things Dewalt did was add XR branding to the 5ah powerstack.

Do you have a basis for your belief? It seems like if there was a fake storefront on Amazon for an authorized dealer, that provided the correct customer service phone number for that retailer, then it would get closed down pretty quickly. On the contrary, the Max Tools storefront has been on Amazon for over five years with more than 33,000 ratings.

I just scan to make sure the QR codes match with dewalt for any purchase of batteries, so far have run into zero issues.

it's the same battery but with a different sticker. dewalt does this stupid sh*t all the time. they change stickers on batteries and chargers every few years seemingly just to f**k with people. the regular 5ah battery (model DCB205) has like 8 different designs, half of them manufactured concurrently. i bought two of the same exact kit at home depot about 3 years back. the 5ah AH batteries in them looked completely different. but both were legit

No one has reported any PowerStack fakes yet, so it would be news if they were. IOW: No reason to think they are fake and plenty of reason to assume they are real.

Easier to say it's too old for warranty. They change models with about everything so people can't commit fraud.
