What is 2K
2K refers to a display resolution that typically has around 2,000 horizontal pixels. In digital cinema standards, it is defined as 2048 × 1080 pixels.
However, in consumer electronics and marketing, 2K often refers to a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels, also known as QHD or Quad HD.
This resolution is commonly used in monitors and is sometimes mistakenly called 2K due to marketing practices.

2K vs 1440p
2K and 1440p are often used interchangeably, but they technically refer to slightly different resolutions. 2K generally refers to a resolution of 2048 x 1080 pixels, while 1440p, also known as Quad HD (QHD), has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Despite this, many displays marketed as 2K actually have a 1440p resolution, leading to confusion. In practical terms, 1440p offers more pixels and better image quality compared to 1080p, but the difference between 1440p and true 2K is minimal.
Either way, it wouldn't be 1080p from what I see.
There's no rules and they'll happily list the same monitor three times as 2K, QHD, and 1440p just to hit more search results.
