I also got Rocksnith from Steam, and the usb cable on eBay. Coming from the old days of guitar hero it has been a pleasant learning experience, I'd recommend it

Bass isn't "easier" to play but it doesn't involve learning chords unless you want to necessarily. Do you have good rhythm? It's more of a rhythm percussion instrument than guitar is.

As far as this bass goes it's likely great for anyone who plays bass.
Bass might be easier to physically play in general, but depending on how your voice your notes, your playing could really bring out the warmth in a song. Sometimes it's just about the notes and not how technically proficient you are. Technicality in playing has a very large range.
I'm thinking performance vs composition. Good luck!
