FAQ's:
- No, you cannot use Staples GC's to purchase these.
- No, these do not count towards your spend requirements for a premier membership.
- No, these do not earn you any Staples rewards.
- No, you cannot use coupons/ rewards to purchase these GC's.
- Yes, you can split payment between multiple cards (if your cashier permits it) YMMV
- The limit of 9 may or may not be enforced depending on your store/ cashier. YMMV
- Why is this a deal? Some members have CC's that earn 5% CB at office supply stores (INK and Amex Simply Cash). Others need to meet minimum CC spend.
- What if my store doesn't accept payment with a CC? Your store likely has had issues with fraud and it is managers discretion on what payment they will accept.
- Other chase cards may have special offers for Staples ($ limited). Check your chase account under chase offers.

If I buy 5 and then go to use them to buy something elsewhere online, can I use all 5 in the same transaction? I'm sure it may be vendor dependent but I don't even know how I would enter 5 cards on an online transaction

Very few retailers allow split payment among cards online. The best use for these is if you have the old ink card that gives 5x rewards for office supply stores. If using online you have to keep track on how much is on each card as trying to use more than the remaining balance will get rejected. Easiest use is at grocery store as it will redeem whatever balance is on card And if More money is due it will prompt for another card.

Trying to complete a minimum spend on my Ink Business Premiere card… any issue with using it on these gift cards? Should I mix in some other purchases so the amount is a bit more random?

Nope. Just did mine last week with the staples MC ones.

You don't need to know the balance left to use it at the grocery store and exhaust the balance?

Not the poster, but my experience is they drain whatever they can at Kroger, like they said. IDK if that is a YMMV. You can always find out the balance if you lose track. I keep track of any balance remaining right on the cards with a Sharpie.

How often does this happen at Staples? Is it like every two months thing or a one-off opportunity?

It's more like 2-3 weeks every month, alternating between Visa and MC.

I don't see how this type of thing is worth the effort. Let's face it basically no one is rushing to Staples to get as gifts, they're going to MS, run $$ through a cash back card. What's the best you're getting, 5%? Especially since this type of purchase apparently isn't eligible for Staples rewards. Then you're left holding hundreds or thousands of $$ in prepaid GC to scrape maybe a couple hundred $$ at most? If it was "the old days" when there were easy ways to cash out it would be another story.

Ink Bussiness Cash from Chase offers 5% back for office supplies. This card replaces Ink Bussiness Plus.

I use these MC/Visa to pay for auto and home insurance. They only take debit cards. With Visa, I use them at Costco. They take these multiple Visa cards. So I'm getting 5% back on Chase pts and 2% back on Costco Executive membership. I also use on multiple merchants.
