I love the mouse. My only issue is the battery life with the RGB on is awful. I turned it off.

They used to. The build quality is terrible. I got Logitech mice for the family a few years back and every one of them has broken and been discarded. I'm currently writing this in a g213 keyboard that's also around 3 years old and I have to push the "e" key hard for it to register. Logitech used to be great. It's garbage now. You're better off with no name Chinese junk.
Sure, and if we're going to put anecdotal information out there, I'm currently using a g604 mouse from 4 or 5 years ago that's working like the day I got i. Never had any of the infamous double click issues. I'm also using a g813 that I bought at the same time and never had any issues with except for the crappy ghub software.

FYi - your link is for older Lightspeed G502, not G502x Lightspeed. Different shape, different switches.
did not notice, wasn't there a model that didn't work as well as other 502s? I felt like I got one of those once, like the SE or something.

Never had good luck with Logitech products- even back in the 90s. Always seemed to break prematurely and I'm gentle with my stuff. Plastic seems cheap. They are nice to use, but they don't last. Haven't bought a Logitech product in 15 years.
I've been using a cheapo Lenovo mouse for 13 years and still going strong. I opened-up it up and removed the ratchet on the mouse wheel.

I had this mouse, and it lasted about 6 months before the rubber on the thumb side started to decay and get sticky. Tried everything to fix it. I don't know what this crappy rubber like compound is that most computer mice now use on the thumb side, but it is not good. Other than that, it was OK.

The SE and older Hero / Core are basically the same other than minor changes I think.

The G502X is the newer shape with some minor changes and optical switches that shouldn't double click. I did have a battery die in a G502x lightspeed in the first year, but they replaced it.

What are you talking about? Logitech still makes the best mouse for gaming.
I have not had much luck with longevity with their mice. They are the best mouse for gaming, so I keep buying. But the switches in these things go bad way too soon. Almost always just a few months past warranty. I have the white version of this, the battery life is terrible. I ended up going back to my G502 SE wired mouse. I ended up just replacing the skids on it.
But this guy you are responding to is right, logitech mice do not last like they used to. This is my 4th G502 SE mouse due to the switches glitching and starting to double click.

Power Play Mat Sucks IMO
If it works for you and your OK with its cost then you do you, I know lots of people choose cosmetics over function.

However I had it and sent it back.

It caused feedback hum in my speakers, I could not use my oversized desktop mat in conjunction with it without having a really janky setup that was not comfortable to use.

I was not willing to give up my ultra comfortable mat to use this instead, etc.

Returned it to Amazon where I got and, and got a basic $20 mouse charging dock that uses the power play puck to do magnetic charging.

That has worked perfectly for me, I use a G502 Lightspeed at work daily for 8 hours a day and all I have to do is charge it once a week and the battery never died.

If this mouse with RGB has a higher battery demand, I am sure you will be fine to still only charge it once in a while (even if just at the end of the day).

Its so fast and easy to dock it when your done for the day. Much better than the mat IMO.

We took a step back in technology, making things more gimmicky than they need to be.

The charging dock also has a USB port on it so you can put the wireless dongle right near the mouse to minimize interference/latency.

Be warned the scroll wheel on this thing sounds CHEAP. Such a rough hollow sound.
It's the price of the new optical buttons, which hopefully will never develop the double click. It's much lighter than the 502 before, so definitely still an upgrade.

I have the rgb https://a.co/d/43kP9DZ dock for less. The rgb gets a little warm, turns out there is a button to turn it off though, didn't notice after it was hidden by the receiver dongle.

I saw the bad reviews and didn't care for the RGB so didn't get that one.

I did consider it though.
