Scheels [scheels.com] has Vasque Women's Hiking Boots (Various Styles/Sizes) on sale for $49.99. Shipping is free today (no minimums).

Note: boots are new but may not come with the original box.

Available:I own some Vasque hiking boots and like them. IMO, the Vasque brand runs a bit narrow. Prices are slick - Backcountry [backcountry.com] has the Breeze on sale for $120.

I use merrell for my hiking shoes and they've always made me happy I chose them. I got lucky and found them in Marshall's for 39.00. They still sell them and he only reason I haven't bought more is that the ones I have still are good after 3 seasons and I'm an avid hiker. I do at least 60 to 70 miles monthly or more.

I'm on my 3rd pair of Vasque hiking boots. My 2nd pair, suede Sundowners with full-grain uppers, survived well over 10 years and hundreds of miles on both trails and streets. When I finally blew out a sole, (thankfully on the last 1/2 mile of a trail), I went into town and bought a pair of Vasque Breezes that day. I'll probably wind up getting the Sundowners resoled for winter use.

They have great support for both the arch & ankle, very reliable waterproofness, and are overall comfy.

Vasque has a reputation for being great boots. I bought a pair of Vasque Skywalker boots that were real good but they split in the area next to the little toe. I used them much but they should have lasted longer. Then Vasque made Skywalker 2 boots that had reinforcements in that area. I do not know if they offered any kind of compensation for the style I had. I will probably buy Vasque boots again when I need hiking boots but I should check with them about what happens if the boots have a design flaw.
