It's sister, Hardee's, never gives anything away without some sort of spending. This year they are giving away select burgers for reduced stars (their rewards system). I just bought a Frisco Burger (their most expensive burger of the selection) for 150 stars, down from 500 stars. I basically still paid $15 in points for a $7.69 burger. Good thing all the points were accumulated from other discounts (BOGO and min purchase offers).

I did some checking on other popular burger joints. Seems like McDonalds doesn't participate because they celebrate national cheeseburger day. Fredidy's celebrates national steakburger day, In N Out and Five Guys doesn't celebrate anything.

However, they tend to post the day before, so maybe I'll wake up in the morning and see something on their social media.
