Fire sticks were great in the beginning and I would upgrade to the newest one whenever possible. But while the hardware was getting better, the software went the opposite direction. It was pushing more ads and more aggressively.
I stopped upgrading and now I'm looking for a way out, anybody have any recommendations?
Plex, SmartTube, and tinyCam PRO [amazon.com] are the only apps I use/watch on the multiple 4k Firesticks in my home, and they function wonderfully and reliably. I would argue you'd be hard-pressed to find such functionality and features for just $30.
Too bad I don't qualify for any of the promo codes as I have a few old 4k Sticks I would like to upgrade to the Max version. Most people should be able to score a similar $30 deal, if not better, on Prime Day or Black Friday, though...
Do you have recommendations, or just a useless comment?
