Bought in the past to do some soldering on tv's and game systems. Slow to heat up, thin metal. Ended up returning it. Not even worth $30 due to how inefficient and flimsy it is

Dang, that's too bad. Was hoping to finally score a deal on an iron that's better than the $5 ones you can get from Harbor Freight. Thanks for the insight though!

I've a Aoyue 469 from years ago and it is decent, fits Hakko tips. A lot of folks are now using smart irons like pinecil.

If you are looking for a high quality, affordable soldering iron, I use Yihua products. I've always been happy with them. For only a little more money you get much better quality.

I bought one of these and couldn't be happier. on sale for $50 right now. Heats up fast digital display Some Youtuber recommended it and I gave it a try not much more I could want in a soldering iron really. https://www.amazon.com/YIHUA-Prof...F0aWM&th=1

Interesting, it looks like a 939 clone and fits the same ends. says it 65 wats so no reason for it to be slow to heat. Amazon has a ton of positive reviews so I wonder if you just got a bad one.

Same. I was gonna suggest the Pinecil instead.

There are SO MANY options in this price range. I don't see anything special about this one at all. Doesn't seem like a "deal" to me 🤷

If you need to solder more than one thing its worth picking up a name brand model. I picked up a hakko years ago and love it. heats up quick and you can basically run solder as fast as you want without heat drop
