Depends on the price point. This is currently cheaper than any 60 day unlock FE I have seen and is a better phone.

Glad that worked out. 1. I'd flash unlocked firmware if you are using it with T-Mobile. Samsung nowadays uses multi CSC firmware which switches to carrier depending on the SIM card. I dont know if that will happen with ATT firmware though, did you see T-Mobile app/boot screen etc when you put the T-Mobile.SIM.

2. It's same as a Samsung factory unlocked phone so it will receive all the updates perhaps a bit later than carrier ones.
It shows the pink TMO screen when powering on. After unlock and first inserting the TMO SIM, it asked me if I wanted to switch to TMO. When I answered 'yes' it removed the AT&T apps and installed the TMO apps, like TLife, etc. So I guess it is now considered a TMO phone. I'll see if I get updates in the future, as I had already done all available updates when I had the AT&T SIM in it before network unlocking.

How long after you paid off to do the unlock? 24 hrs or 48 hrs?
I paid the phone off last night, so it was about 10 hours later that I began going through the WIKI SIM Swap process. It took about 2 hours for my SIM-swapped unlocked phone to show up under the MyATT account information, and I waited until then to request the unlock code from AT&T (again following the instructions to request it as if I did not have an AT&T account). It was only about 10 minutes after submitting the request that I got the email with the unlock code. I waited to cancel my AT&T service until I verified it was fully unlocked and operating under TMO fine. AT&T Chat agent told me I wouldn't owe anything since I had canceled service within 3 days of activation, and my account shows a $0 balance.

New to ATT, tried to activate it, but the temporary passcode never work. Even after entering ssn or zip code. Got the text for temp passcode, but it didn't match

Is anyone having a difficulty to sign in the ATT account on PC? After I paid off the phone a moment ago and tried to log in, I always got an error message.
It's possible the account is deactivated right away.

I successfully paid off and unlocked this phone. Thanks to OP.
I couldn't get the waived activation fee since the delivery from Fedex was delayed over the weekend. I will chat with ATT to cancel this tonight.

I also tested trading in with this phone from ATT website, they quoted its value at $100
I'm not trading in but it might be great for those who are fans of Apple.
As I mentioned in the pinned comment ATT activation can be voided instantly once the bill comes.

Do I need to do anything different if I need two of these phones? Or do I just buy two of them and go through the same steps?

I paid off earlier just before noon.

So I should start the SIM swapped process after midnight today would be best ?

It's possible that they are running a bit behind on activation.

I didn't even activate it yet. Even when logging to ATT account, they sent me OTP # to authenticate that doesn't match their server.

I cancelled my service on the 3rd day of activation.
The online chat CSR also confirmed that my final bill will be $0. However, my final bill shows a one-time partial month charge of $5.07 (May 29 - May 31).
Should I chat to their CSR again to get rid of this charge?

I added new line in my account so i can pay off device and cancel in 3 days . But when i checked my bill , verizon giving $15 credit on bill for 36 months , no trade-in and there was offer for $20 for 12 months so each month my bill will be 11.99 and no activation charges . I decided to keep keep using the line as i am paying $12/month for phone and getting line for free for 1 year. Once $20 credit ends , i will cancel the line .

I would suggest before you cancel the line , please check for these promos.
Good luck
