I ordered yesterday around 5pm. It looks like fedex got the package within the last hour and I have set up the att account. Should I pay the phone off now or wait until its delivered?
How did you setup the AT&T account before receiving the phone? I asked for new line on AT&T and dont have the phone number or account number. So I am not able to setup the account..

You will receive an email from ATT asking you to register your account after your phone line is activated before shipment.

Was anyone able to pay off the AT&T phone balance online using multiple credit cards that each have the cash back promo on them? If that works, I might place an order.

If not, was anyone able to confirm we can pay in parts either in store or by phone?
It is the ATT policy that only a full payment is accepted to pay off a installment plan. Such a policy is stated on your account portal.

Thats the weird part, walmart says my device was shipped via OnTrac on June 2, expected to be delivered by June 6. Device was shipped but I never recieved any activation email from AT&T.
I contacted walmart , they asked me to contact AT&T.
I contacted AT&T and guess who they asked me to contact ...

So I should pay the balance off first, then unlock, and then cancel the line?

Two possibilities, 1. They are running behind on activations, 2. Someone at Walmart forgot to scan it (which would imply you no DPP activated as well so free phone)

if no DPP activated, the phone wont work on any network right, it will be blacklisted? So yea could be a "free" phone but not usable? Or am I missing something?

No it will be an ATT locked phone so you can activate on any ATT account (including a new one you can open at a store) and then do SIM swap to unlock.

success story:

May 30th - ordered phone on Walmart
June 2nd - got the phone and paid it off on ATT account. tried the sim swap method pass midnight for the unlock request but failed.
June 4th - after waiting 24 hours, re-submitted the unlock request and got the unlock code in about 20 minutes.

now trying to cancel the line, but agent is being an ass. he forced me to call the loyalty team to cancel. he said this is required to cancel the line but i think he simply doesn't want to cancel for me.

Anyone know how to escalate with chat support for the unlock with ATT? I submitted it Sunday morning and it still just says "In process" Should I cancel the line now?

I'm in the same boat with Vzn. shipped out of Chino on 6/2, expecting delivery 6/6. No account registration emails from Vzn. I'm hoping this means they skipped scan so I'm getting a free phone. Worst case, the registration email comes closer to delivery date so I can payoff and cancel the line with a smaller prorated bill.

Which warehouse is yours coming from?
