The guy who made mercatalyst is the same guy who made woot.com. Woot.com was sold to Amazon (when amazon was buying up every online retailer like 6pm, zappos).
There's an interview/article about the owner of woot and his meal with Jeff Bezos.
Long story short - reputable seller, and you'll be fine purchasing through them.
