For $1,000, it's not bad, but even the LG B4 is better. Considering the B4 is only $200 more, I don't really see why anyone should get this TV. If you're going to get OLED, do it right and go with the better TV. You won't miss that $200 (well, plus tax) in a month. https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews.../z85a-oled

I hope its better now, my S95B is dead slow. It's sad that a $30 roku box smokes the processor in an allegedly flagship TV.

I have the "onn 4K Pro Streaming Device with Google TV Hands-Free Voice Control & Dolby Atmos/Dolby Vision". I got it for a cheaper older TV, and it is really quick. Walmart brand that has 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. I may try it on this TV. It's $50 now, but I got it on sale for $40.

That works, too. Just anything that has Dolby Vision. It's so much better than HDR10/HDR10+.

This would've been reasonable to say 6 months ago, but Disney announced at the start of the year they're adding support and Netflix started supporting it a couple months ago. HBO/Max and Peacock (if you want to count them as a big dog) are the only holdouts at this point and then I'm not sure what Hulu's situation is since it's content is on Disney Plus. So 5 out of either 6, 7 or 8 "big dogs" do support it, Samsung ended up forcing a draw by being stubborn for way too long.

EDIT- Was replying to Redshirt's comment, not sure how it responed to GreySwing's instead.

The data collection subroutine should remain active all the time. There is no data transmission unless you provide a pathway to the internet. Switching between inputs and channels (OTA tuner) require very little CPU power. It's web browsing, app, and data mining that slow down the system.

Amazon (Fire) is one of the worst company when it comes to data mining. Google gives away Android OS. Microsoft sells windows 11 for $10. Store bought PCs come with preloaded craps that pull over 200 processes after boot. Their goals: collect your data and sell you a product.

FYI, I run Windows 10 with 50 processes and 0.9 GB RAM after boot. Windows 11 pulls 62 processes and 1.2 GB RAM after boot. Unfortunately, the user doesn't have the same capability to cleanup the OS in modern TVs.

LG OS is decent and is snappy except unnecessary promotional content and default apps on home screen which is typical in all modern smart TVs. Main complaint is regarding magic remote which most users don't like but I personally like the convenience.

Even the link you provided says that they're both pretty close and really the slight edge the B4 has might not be worth an extra $200

No, like LG, most are not interested in paying the licensing fee. The broadcasters push for DRM so they can have more control over what you are allowed to watch and skip. NO THANK YOU. 1.0 is 100% free.

Hisense U8 has had ATSC for the last couple of years. I think samsung includes this also. Check TCL. Definitely Hisense.
