Recommended for Beginner Play. It will play fine in intermediate, but you eventually will hit a ceiling because the shots you want to make just wont happen due to the paddle. These are good enough for casual players and about the same price as the sets on amazon. $10 a piece to carry around in the trunk of the car to play with your family.
If you are intermediate - you will know what you are looking for. Double back hand, control, power, extended, hybrid etc. Save the extra $20 and put it towards what you want.
Plenty of good options in the $50-$100 range. PM me if you want some referrals.
Friday Pickleball paddle is a good start.
theyre paddles not rackets. i play 4 times a week. ive gotten replicas of the joola 3s hyperion, modta 15, joola 4, titanium paddle like the shogun, 2 generic edgeless paddles, and a simpler $30 paddle that probably plays like a $50 paddle i put a lot of weight on as i was bored but handles well with control and pop. dont knock the knockoffs if you havent tried them and dont want go out and spend $300 per paddle..

No, these are only good for beginners just starting out learning the rules and basics. Once you get a bit better you definitely need a better paddle. Doesn't have to be expensive. Plenty of great options such as the Friday paddle or the Vatic.

Knock offs from Ali are not all bad. They serve a purpose. Only downside is customer service or the ability to replicate a paddle.
I ordered from a T700 Carbon fiber paddle from Ali. Looked and promised to be similar to the SLK Halo. It came as a cheap thin fiberglass paddle with an image of a carbon fiber print laminated on top. it was $12. Vendor was non responsive. Ali told me to send it back and they will "investigate." Ultimately, I filed a claim got a refund from my credit card directly.
Several friends ordered a joola hyperion knock off. They looked the same and played better than $10 paddle. Even from the same vendor the consistency varied. Different weight, sweet spot etc. It would be difficult to get the "same paddle" or recommend a paddle from Ali because there is too much variability.
Juciao brand on Ali seems more consistent. Plays well.

I had a paddle where it had a dent and had to send it back but for the most part as technology got better and paddles changed they show up quick on AliExpress and have gotten better in quality.
A $12 paddle is kinda on the lower tier. With tariffs or on average a decent paddle is still around $55 so not sure what you were expecting for $12. I know what the slk halo is but when I type in slk halo it shows as $70 on AliExpress. I know there's clones that look similar but $12 would have red flags for me

Juciao titanium is arguably one of top paddles in the sport. Juciao makes pro level paddles although they do offer low end stuff as well
