It doesn't look like you can even buy a Series X directly from retailers anymore. There are some 3rd party listings but that's it. They are quietly phasing it out.

Edit: Lol at whoever downvoted me. The prices of Xbox consoles are pants on head stupid now. No one in their right mind would spend $400 for a Series S, $600 for a 1TB Series X or $730 for a 2TB Series X.
So let me get this straight Sony is offering $50 off while Microsoft raised their prices to absurd levels? It's almost like Microsoft wants the Xbox to fail.

Nothing better than being reminded by a salesman that they are indeed, a salesman. In your case, you're doing it for free, Nintendo doesn't even know you exist

They aren't wrong! I have PC and switch it cannot be beat.

It's a good combo but I just can't do Nintendo anymore. The price/game ratio is enormous. PC looks more enticing everyday.

Honestly, if you have a decent PC, going for the Switch 2 is the smarter option. Most PS5 games are readily available on the PC. The Switch 2 will have games/experiences you can't get anywhere else. I'm not a nintendo fanboy, I'm just looking at the problem from the perspective of a gamer who wants to play ALL the exclusive content.

Yeah. This. PC + Switch console is the widest access to the games releasing in the future. Nintendo games do not go to PC (unless you love to mod/hack/tinker with emulators). Switch 2 games will not be accessible for Emulation for a long time if at all. MS and Sony games go to PC so it doesn't make sense to get those consoles if you want access to most games. PS5 + Switch would be a much cheaper option if you don't care for older PC games that are not on console. Most new games (especially INDIE titles) will make it to the digital market on PSN/Xbox Live/Gold Pass anyways. PC Gaming has been my primary platform lately with a Nintendo console supplementing that. Free online play without paying for Xbox live/PSN and Nintendo's online is cheap at $20 a year. I regret buying a PS5 but I do like having some of the games in physical format and having a quick plug and play access compared to PC.

Yeah but the hours I have spent and fun factor on Nintendo exclusives can't be beat. Plus the system has never given me issues in the years I had it. They even stood behind the drift issues. Xbox has been disappointing and ps5 is good if you like TV console play.

Great Value. Especially with the overpriced Switch2 releasing next week.

You can get the same discount at Gamestop by getting the COD bundle as the $25 off $250 promotion, that's excluded from every other PS5, works on it without requiring an override.

Actually the $25 off $250 does work on the other ones too if you're adamant about them applying it.

With Switch 2 prices rumored to be high, this feels like the better bang for your buck right now.

You have to ask for the discount as they have to scan a barcode to apply it. They were informed a while ago that if consumers are adamant about getting the discount that they will do it. Though for most of the PS5's it's blocked by the system and would require an override. According to a few people on another site the COD one works without the override required.

But you need a GameStop pro membership for that, which nullifies the savings if you aren't a member. The discount was working on their website as well but they've made changes and now it won't work. So jury's still out on whether or not it works in-store now. Amazon x Chase Freedom 5% cb might be a better deal at the moment.

Just called a GameStop. The $25 won't work on new consoles.

With Walmart and Target seriously paring down their physical game sections and many online deals being so so (looking at you, Amazon, matching everybody else but not doing anything otherwise) it makes sense for now to have the Pro membership. They have semi frequent $10 off promotions for it when you're buying a new game in the same transaction.

That unlocks the Pro exclusive stuff like the $25 off $250. Not to mention you have the $5 a month coupon/certificate that you can also use on consoles, games or whatever. Sure. They eliminated it working on the digital currency for consoles but that was largely due to people using it twice, including getting a free $5 Nintendo Switch currency in store. So you can't blame them for closing a loophole that was making them nothing.

Unfortunately that bundle has been out since March so finding stock is going to be problematic. Best Buy has some showing as "open box" for $342 but since the game is a digital voucher I imagine that they won't guarantee that it's included. Not to mention that I'm pretty sure the factory warranty isn't included on open box.

I was able to get it at the same price from playstore directly. Thanks for the feedback though.
