Any coupons to make it sweeter?

Edit. Signed up for the 10% dell email sub.
Stacks with the $50 off.
$700-$50-$65-$100. Taxes suck. After taxes was $530 delivered.

Probably the lowest price you will ever get a new PS5Pro for the foreseeable future given the US tariff situation. Great opportunity if you qualify for the AMEX offer as the savings would cover the cost of the disc drive add-on.

Come on now, this should be $499 out the gate and it really isn't better than the PS5 due to developers.

It's already better in the sense you can play all games in performance mode at 60fps instead of 30fps.

I have Amex blue cash and Amex everyday and was only able to add it to one card. Didn't work for me.

Are we talking about the storage drive or optical drive???
I meant the optical, since the guy further up thread was asking if he could take disc drive off Slim. But if you have an NVME you can also move that over without issue. No need to redownload games as long as you're logged in from same PlayStation account. Might have to get save data from the cloud, but that's trivial compared to 1TB+ of game data.

Would consider it.. but only based on how much I could sell my PS5 slim regular for. I'm guessing those things only go for $300-$350 used.

Stop supporting this. You can't make up for poor optimization by just throwing more hardware at the problem. In a couple years Sony will say you need the PS5 Pro Ultra
It doesn't really have anything to do with optimisation. Developers target 30fps quality mode on the base console when they're prioritizing fidelity over higher frame rates since the hardware doesn't allow them to do both in a lot of instances. That's not to say no games are poorly optimised, but saying "bad optimisation!" whenever a game doesn't run at 4k/60fps is ridiculous. The standard PS5 has a midrange 2020 GPU in it and a somewhat outdated processor. The pro adds substantial GPU grunt which gets a lot of games stuck at 30fps in quality mode on the PS5 up to 60fps with similar quality on the pro. It's still held back somewhat by the CPU though.

Sony did the same thing last gen with the PS4 Pro, and so did Microsoft. Gaming hardware improves much faster than the typical console release cycle, and games become more demanding faster than that too, so it makes sense to put out an upgraded console after a few years. The price isn't great for what we're getting this generation though, but hardware costs are a lot higher than they used to be (for numerous reasons).
