I have Verizon home internet and looked into this for traveling awhile back, and most people that tried it reported that their hardware was geofenced to their home address and it wouldn't work; on the other hand, most people that tried the same thing with T-Mobile home internet were able to use theirs while traveling. Though I believe your contract in any case requires it only be used at the home address or your service can be terminated. I was going to try it out on my last road trip, but I ultimately didn't because I could add using my phone as a mobile hotspot to my plan for $10 and that was more than adequate and didn't risk getting my best option for home internet locally terminated.

Unless you really want a Switch, this seems pretty meh. I'm paying $35/month for FIOS 300/300 and not chained to Verizon wireless.

Reading is fundamental but it's a 3 year price lock not 3 year contract. Meaning they won't raise the price for 3 years. You only have to keep service for 180 days.

I've had vzw 5G home without phone line for a year and happy with it.. I qualified for Verizon Forward $30 discount. Noticed a new offer for $10/mo off for existing fixed wireless users.

Fiber customers are just lucky to have a choice. Us rural types don't have many options

yes, confirmed here.. they throttle you on these plans, unlike T-mobile. 300 is sufficient for me and they included free modem and extender on Plus plan.

update, just checked... my monthly bill has decreased with that $10/mo discount (1yr $120).. now a total of $40 off on $80 Plus plan. And I've had decent support over chat so no complaints. I could get more off with Auto Pay but I don't trust them that much!

Last Verizon Fios promo I got free Rayban Ai and $200 vzn GC. That after I cancel existing fios and reapply for new service. Currently I'm paying $55 for 1 Gb speed, northern Va area. I don't know if I want that switch and JBL, paying $75 with same speed. Maybe not worth it

If you try going from Comcast to the 5g home like I did - I switched right back. We got crazy lag and my zoom calls started stuttering badly. Was worth it to try but I didn't get the speeds they were advertising despite being less than a few miles from a tower.
