I have Verizon home internet and looked into this for traveling awhile back, and most people that tried it reported that their hardware was geofenced to their home address and it wouldn't work; on the other hand, most people that tried the same thing with T-Mobile home internet were able to use theirs while traveling. Though I believe your contract in any case requires it only be used at the home address or your service can be terminated. I was going to try it out on my last road trip, but I ultimately didn't because I could add using my phone as a mobile hotspot to my plan for $10 and that was more than adequate and didn't risk getting my best option for home internet locally terminated.

Unless you really want a Switch, this seems pretty meh. I'm paying $35/month for FIOS 300/300 and not chained to Verizon wireless.

Reading is fundamental but it's a 3 year price lock not 3 year contract. Meaning they won't raise the price for 3 years. You only have to keep service for 180 days.

Just for comparison, I have 1gb on att fiber for 60 a month since I have att wireless. 80 without. So you're definitely paying back the free stuff over time.

Exactly the reason why I get the free swag every year that they offer it. I've never seen a summer offer but since winter 2023 I've gotten a series S, a series X, a moca adapter, a $200 visa giftcard, a $200 Verizon gift card, and some random Xbox live money.

If this deal is still active by the end of June, I'll definitely get it. Very easy to schedule a cancellation on day X for myself and then have my wife sign up for service on that same day.

I need internet for my house. No internet currently. It appears the services in my area are Verizon and Optimum. Don't use internet much except for the occasional computer, xbox and fire stick. And cell phones. Would this be a good deal for my situation? 300 shows $49.99 plus taxes for my area.

Read the fine print; get stuff after being a customer for 65 days, then 60 days to order it; better than the 6 months they pushed for my sign up (I didn't sign up to get stuff just to try something new). Try them out now and the offer was the same for me except ray ban metas instead of a switch. I'm supposed to get like 500Mbps but not seeing better than 300ish ( sales guy made big promises, shocking I know). Not sure it's worth the switch from gig fiber for less than double the price
