if its the Pro first gen, there's an extended program that covers the static/crackling noise. It's a known defect and i was able to get mine warrantied. You'll need to get escalated to level 2 support and they'll honor it.edit: adding details. I bought mine in 2019 and was able to warranty it august 2024. Thank you for this. I got my Pro1 on Nov2019 and for the past 3 months I am getting a crackling sound on the left ear piece. I contacted Apple support regarding this program and they said the program got expired and even they mentioned in the website as "The program covers affected AirPods Pro for 3 years after the first retail sale of the unit" and I wonder how your request was warranted since your AirPods were nearly 5 years old. apple care is with all product for 1 year usually and apple care+ adds accidentally damaging it and up to one year
