The battery is what makes these run better. The 5 amp is the key - makes my old one run almost as good as newer 765 one. The generics on amz dont run as long, but are good enough for a smaller yard...

Got mine from Lowes. Been procrastinating on buy one for a while but bit the bullet. Glad I did. Man, I very happy with it. It's super strong. The boost is so strong I really don't have a reason to use it. I've been using it this week while detailing my truck.

I gave up on the name brand and buy the knock offs now.
Be careful on this: I work in the battery field and we take CT scans of batteries, including competitors. For one product we purchased the name brand Dewalt, as well as the 'amazon recommended' knock off.

The knock off was constructed horribly. Like a slideshow of how not to build batteries. Then on top of it, it had less protections built in to the battery (not that I trusted any of the ones they included to actually function).

I get that the knock offs are tempting, and not saying I never buy them, just realize they are a huge risk. Especially on a battery pack like this that might have 10+ cells that are likely to propagate to each other

Is this good enough to blow fresh light snow off a deck?

Absolutely, I blow the snow right off my cars, as long as it's not the heavy wet stuff. Clears them with ease, and no need to touch the paint with any brushes. Stairs are a breeze to clear too.

EGO is junk. Chargers and battery issues.
I have 2 ego products for over a year and no issues with the batteries. Could be the user tbh

What's the normal life of this Ego battery ( 5ah) if properly taken care as per the manufacturer's instructions.

I have this, one thing to note is the blower's noise level, it runs quieter than most gas blowers, around 64 dB

My previous ego blower was the 650 CFM that came with a 5 Ah battery purchased 10/2020 and I had issues with that original battery where it would overheat (red circle on the display gauge) if I used the Turbo on the blower for more than a couple minutes at a time. I'd have to wait 30 seconds or so to use the blower again and avoid using the Turbo or it would overheat again. After about 1.5 years, I didn't want to get stuck with a bad battery so I called Ego about the issues.

Ego replaced the 5.0 Ah battery through warranty on 5/2022 and I haven't had any issues with the newer battery. It's been going strong for over 3 years. I use it all the time (blow drying cars, blowing/cleaning up after mowing, and fall leaf blowing).

I just got a new blower, the 765 CFM with another 5.0 Ah battery. Happy camper here as now I have two 5.0 Ah batteries and I was able to sell my old 650 blower.

I bought Kobalt string trimmer 2 years ago and the charger and battery just keep rolling unlike the EGO. Glad I threw the EGO in the trash.

Amazon breaks it down into 2 seperate purchases. Could probably be hacked. 2.5ah came to $88 and some change making the blower charger and 5.0ah $211.

Amazon prices last week for this deal.

$187 for the blower
$112 for the 2.5Ah battery

Since Amazon immediately breaks them into two order numbers, I cancelled the order for the 2.5Ah. (the website won't let me cancel it by itself, but a chat agent cancelled it for me within 10 seconds) T

he $187 blower shipped yesterday and I should have it later this afternoon. Don't really need the small 2.5Ah battery so I assume I have a very decent deal for the blower? Smilie
