Never understood why these clocks don't just sync through wifi
Probably battery but a few decades passed since they designed these so they could easily update to current battery tech. I dunno, it wouldn't even need to be constant, sync every few days or so.

Get a smart clock like Lenovo. It connects to the internet and sync time, date and outside temperature automatically even after the electricity goes out and comes back on.
Yes if that is what you want. You can even display outside temp on it. Lenovo or some other Google clock or Alexa Echo. I liked the Lenovo I bought.

I like it for time, temp and humidity. This does that however smart clocks do not. I could not find one that sensed inside temp.

Seems like it's dead now.

but to be clear, does the time adjust automatically during time changes twice a year? Looking to buy one for my elderly parent who doesn't change her clock unless I do it for her.

"This clock will automatically add the time by 1 hour in the Spring, and subtract the time by 1 hour in the Fall (only if the "DST ON/OFF" switch is turned on). The DST function is set to AUTO by default." - from the manual. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1...7468544675

"For all Marathon Self-Setting ATOMIC clocks, just allow 24-48 hours for your clock to automatically adjust. For faster synchronizing, place your unit near a window or in a space with good reception." - from the manufacturer. https://eu.marathonwatch.com/page...s-know-how

I've never had any of these "atomic clocks" work properly.Apparently they use some sort of once-a-day AM signal to set the time, but pffst...never had that work right once. I've had to set each and every one of them manually. You'd think that'd be enough, since even my inky-dinky digital Casio $15 watch can handle daylight savings time changes if you set the time zone and whatnot.NOPE. You still have to manually change the clock back/forward an hour. Even after it having "aToMiC" auto-time setting and enough computational power to retain a calendar.

Give this trick a try. Someone reported success with an atomic clock by putting a piece of metal next behind the clock.

why not?
Single people I guess. It's ugly AF. When you think of a wall clock, is typically not a cheap square piece of plastic.

I'm all for knowing the time, but we're all walking around with network connected devices with synced time in our pockets and on our wrists.

Im sure it's handy, but throwing this thing on the wall?

I have multiple atomic clocks and have never had an issue.

My garbage can and the dump truck are made of metal, so that's where the last one went.
