I like the 3rd pic, everybody is looking at the ceiling from different positions. I'll try that with my guests and then play trivia. 🤣

Just looked at a review. This actually looks pretty cool. Simply able to mount it on the bed headboard and be able to watch shows lying flat in bed may be worth it.

I just can't trust Buy Dig anymore after they sold me a refurbished monitor (labeled as new).

I remember looking at this (possibly gen 1) on the Samsung website and seeing terrible reviews.

While in theory this may sound cool, in my personal experience, watching anything on the ceiling gets nauseating pretty quickly. Something to do with the limited head movement.

Has its uses and this is a good price. I can get first responder discount at Samsung and they usually price pretty nicely and it's $50 more there

I've got the 1st gen version.
Is it any good? Kinda.

I wouldn't buy this expecting it to go toe-to-toe with premium projectors destined for a cinephile's home entertainment center. It's not bright enough to use in a sunlit room, it's 1080p, and has just one mini-hdmi input.

But it kicks ass my bedroom projector. The auto-keystone works really well, so you can draw the blackout curtains, throw it on a dresser/nightstand/wherever and suddenly you've got a 8-10' screen at the foot of your bed regardless of your room configuration. Great alternative to a TV in the bedroom, since it's not a black rectangle taking up a ton of wall space 90% of the time, and when it's on it doesn't have the harshness of LEDs glowering at your eyes when you're trying to wind down to sleep.

And as a portable, it's cool because it's so self-contained. You grab it, a power cord (or battery if you want to shell out for it), and connect it to WiFi, and you're good to go. It has all of the streaming apps built in like any other smart tv, whereas with other portables you really need to bring a Chromecast or Roku stick or laptop w/ HDMI or something. The gen 2 also has the Xbox gamepass app on it for cloud, so it would in effect be a portable console. You can use your imagination for cases when that might be useful.

These we going for like $1000 brand new when released. Who knows if anyone bought at that price, but for less than half of that I have to imagine most people would find it a good value.

I have the first gen and yes you need a dark room to truly enjoy it and also at times the UI lags.
But we still use it and so far it's going strong.

I did buy it for 400 something with discounts and credits from getting the phones. I would not have paid sticker for it.
