These cheap Chinese hoses are garbage and horrible aluminum alloy they use in the connectors will fuse to your spigots and you will never get the hose off once it's connected.
Whenever I see hose deals, I never know why people go for these. They always crap out at the fittings or the hose kinks or just get's gnarly.

Even if it's more $$ at least after your 4th set of this garbage, it would have already paid for its self.

I live in hot ass Arizona and have had our Briggs and Stratton rubber 100 ft hose for 8 years and still running strong. Have a buddy in Nebraska and it's held up in the cold too for 5+ years.

Do yourself a favor on buying 4 of these over time and just buy better stuff.

I've had the 50' for over 5 years and has held up great against the environment and everyday use for over 5yrs now.

how does this compare to one of the ORIGINAL (hexagon diameter) black rubber hoses from 20 years ago that was either free or near free with rewards. Popcorn
This one is not 20 years old, is green, is not hexagon-shaped, and is not free after rewards. For more detailed comparison, what was the brand 20 years ago?

I just replaced one of these Flexzilla hoses. In less than two years, it had started to degrade. The hose became sticky and would leave a sticky residue on your hands. Would have to wash my hands with dish detergent to get the residue off.

Do not recommend.

This hose is a premium hose. I've bought the same length two times now, once in 2021 and the other in 2022 at the same price as this deal. They have held up with no issues, no leaks, etc. I'm talking getting ran over, tossed around, thrown, wrapped and scraped across brick, concrete, etc.

The only downside is that the hose can kink and it gets moldy. For 100 ft in length, it's worth $50.
Aluminum fittings do not belong on a high quality hose. If you use metal attachments they will "weld" to the aluminum.

The aluminum fittings are problematic. If you leave your hose connected to a brass outdoor faucet for the season (like most people do), galvanic corrosion will cause the hose to become fused to the faucet. They tell you that it's not a problem if you routinely disconnect your hose from the faucet, but nobody does that. Kind of a bummer because otherwise it's a really nice hose. Putting teflon thread tape on your faucet will help.

The Craftsman rubber hoses from Sears is likely what he's talking about. I've had them last 18 years in the sun in Florida with no problem. They are very heavy and unwieldy though, if you need to move them around a lot. They also make your hands turn black.

I've since moved on to the Eley polyurethane hoses. They are not inexspensive, but they are fantastic!

I too have moved onto Eley hoses, after buying multiple crappy ones.

For those with a Costco membership, I just saw 100' heavy duty hose for $28. Not sure how it compares to this but it's half the price.

Why do you like RV water hoses over garden hoses? Are they more durable?

They've been more resilient to sitting on the ground baking in the sun; flexzilla is better than most hoses, but neither are 'kink-free' which is usually done by making them resistant to movement.

It's been my experience that I can just pick it up, use it and drop it; I have quite a few of the flexzilla hoses though and they're more supple than most garden hoses.

So what do you recommend? I use these for my house and replaced all my hoses for these because they are lightweight, don't kink and the fittings have never given me issues.

I've left these connected all season (from water on to water off before freezing) for at least three years now and haven't had an issue. The cheap hose I got from Costco did weld itself to my expensive eley hose nozzle.

Stainless quick connects. Worst case the hose welds itself to a quick connect which can still function.
