They both have the oxygen sensor. It's just disabled on US sold watches since January 18, 2024 due to litigation

It's only disabled on Apple Watches watches sold after Jan 2024. I have the Series 9 and use it often.

Measures oxygen level in blood. I take medication that can screw with mine, so I like to be able to check it. Buddy of mine has scaring in lungs from Covid and uses it multiple times a day to determine when to rest, get out of the heat, etc. Cool feature.
