There is not yet a teardown page to show the NAND used in this product.
With the same 3-year warranty like the other non-Pro product line, and no TLC is mentioned in the product page as the Pro lines do, it's very likely using QLC with SLC cache.

Since it is doing well on CrystalBenchmark from some SSD tester websites, I was temped to get it, however I'd also like to avoid QLC as possible due to my poor experience using the X6.

When copying bigger files or multiple small files, the write speed of X6 dropped much lower than spinning HDDs after the SLC cache exhausted. The claimed speed of X6 only usually lasts a few Gigs. Later on I got an X9 Pro and it was day and night difference.
Still, X6 got the advantage in terms of pricing if speed and durability isn't the concern.

Yes. It's annoying how $55 a TB is considered a deal. Samsung had their 8tb t5 drive for $40ish a TB for most of last December. I waited, hoping it to drop to under $40. It only shot up in 2025. And with tariffs now, I can only wait for a price mistake to finally move all my data to an external SSD.

I have the 4gb version and I just it to store my sample pack, ableton projects, rack etc for music . works amazing but might get small HDD instead because maybe SSD is overkill for me and need more memory.

they'll use every trick to fulfill their greed...once people stop buying the trash they don't really need, could definitely hold out....then reality check...but you know how that goes...products will be moved almost regardless because some people are different
