Save yourself headache and money by getting this model instead. It uses AAA batteries. The OP one is a great deal but uses lithium.

Keeping one of these in your car seems like a great idea until you discover the batteries are dead. This is why I keep analog pencil gauges in my vehicles.

From the reviews, it looks like this takes LR44s for the tip LED (which I likely won't replace at failure) and a CR2032 for the digital gauge. I already keep CR2032s on hand for GM vehicle remotes and alarm transmitters, so it's a go for me. Devices like this and digital calipers often have a tiny parasitic draw that will kill a battery within months or a year, so I either remove the battery or rig a cheap disconnect to keep the battery out of circuit when not in use. This stretches battery life to years with occasional use.

But yours is more than double the price of the OP. And don't those batteries last for a long time I'd be happy if I had to throw away the tool in two years.

Why get one with batteries? Just one more thing that you have to replace batteries in every couple of years (and trust me, when you need this, you then realize the batteries are dead or corroded and you forgot to change them). The rotating analytical gauge never runs out of batteries.

Repped. I prefer the rotating dial version but they are more expensive but yes, non battery versions are the way to go.

Project Farm rates the Etenwolf near the top for accuracy, regardless of price. I have several pen types and they were all off. I bought a 2 pack of Etenwolf and they're within . 2 lbs of each other consistently.

I had for many years; so long I can't remember. Just replaced the CR2032. LR44s still going strong.

Very accurate, but major battery issues.
Dear manufacturer: SOLVE THE BATTERY ISSUES! It drains way too fast. The old models used AA or AAA. Then I see from other reviews, they changed it to run off of 4 button batteries of two different types (3 LR44s, or equivalent, plus a CR2032). But this makes it difficult ult to replace, so they have sinced changed it so that as of Nov 2023 it now runs off of just 3 LR44s (or equivalent). This is easier, and the battery compartment has a standard battery cover you can easily open with a finger. But this battery supply is a problem: I have replaced the batteries 3 different times and each time they drain dead within a month, and only 5 or 6 uses in that time. This is unreliable. The manufacturer needs to find a longer lasting power solution. BUT I love the accuracy, it shows down to the ā…’ of 1 PSI, and it will read it consistently over several different checks. This is rare in the world of tire pressure gauges. Also, while the pressure reading is easy to read, but the battery indicator is so small, it needs to be bigger.
