It's certain locations only. My local DG is happy to take credit or debit cards, but it's very area-dependent and enough DGs have a cash-only policy that this comes up whenever a DG gift card deal gets posted.

No, thank. Cash only at DG.
Really? I think I paid with a credit card when I purchased a gift card during one of these deals last year. Is the cash-only rule a new thing or it's only for certain locations?

If on sale for fathers day, would expect gift cards to hd or lowes but not seeing them. Don't buy dad a tie at belks!

My DG are the same way. Used to be you could use debit but apparently they run into the issue of stolen debit cards enough that they are requiring cash only.

He is saying that your DG is probably in an unsafe area. Meaning that they probably get scammed a lot. That is why DG requires cash. It's for the safety of DG, not the customer, that they require cash.

With that said, I took advantage of this deal late last year for GameStop (got the Switch 2 bundle for $425 cash this way) and used my credit card without issue. Too bad Gamestop didn't pop up again. Would be perfect timing with the Switch 2 coming out this week.

Great stacking opportunity for PetSmart. Get $100 for $85, then use urlhasbeenblocked or similar CB site to get another 20% off the purchase. (Available once a month, especially around holiday weekends)

That's an effective 33% discount store-wide, more if you buy an item on clearance or sale.

You might have some luck waiting until the end of June. At the end of every financial quarter, a lot of retailers will run gift card deals either at their own stores or at a third-party store to get some last-second cash in the door, and GameStop has historically – although not 100% consistently – been one of those retailers.

My daughter is about to buy a couch ~$500 from wayfair. Is it possible to get gift cards from DG in this amount? Or would I have to buy 10 or 20 lower amount cards?

What's funny is that one regular store close to me requires cash, but another DG Market doesn't. The Market store actually had a shooting in the parking lot with the security guard about 3 or 4 months ago.
