*Edit - I guess they frown upon that. lol
Is the practice days worth it? Like will one have decent fun? I have never been to a practice day before for a big golf event vs. going on an actual tournament day.
Is the experience of going to a practice day/round similar to going to an actual tournament round?
In terms of practice rounds vs. actual tournament days, the tournament days are a bit more serious since they are officially competing then. More strict about being quiet and when you can and cannot cross the fairways. One major difference is that you CAN bring a camera with you on practice round days, but NOT on tournament days. (No phones either way)
I'm a local to the tournament, having lived in the Augusta area for 30 years now. Have only 'won' practice round tickets a handful of times in that many years, but have been lucky enough to attend tournament days on a few other occasions thanks to corporate clients of my then-employer and also thanks to a friend who works in safety and security for the golf club letting me use their personal tickets. I got Monday practice round tickets this year, but Monday got rained out after a few hours. So the ANGC refunded the tickets a week or two ago and committed to letting anyone who had Monday tickets this year purchase Monday tickets again for next year since the experience was cut short.
If your dream is to see the course and not necessarily attend the tournament itself, the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals that occur the Sunday before the tournament each year are typically an easier ticket to get in the lotto ( https://tickets.drivech
