What are you talking about? Panasonic still owns their brand and their TV brand. They do contract out to other companies for their TVs to be made though, this one is manufactured by TCL, not exactly a generic Chinese brand. Panasonic pays TCL (and other companies) a flat fee to make their TVs for them, using parts that Panasonic sourced and Panasonic software and processing.

I feel so bad for Panasonic. They're a great company and make excellent TVs. Reentering a market is tough as hell when there are established players.

Yes, but this isn't the same Panasonic of old...I'm still uncertain if that's a good thing, or a bad thing...

I really hope Costco picks up their Oled displays, they are considered one of the best! 🙏🏼

Just ordered from Costco for the bedroom- 5 year warranty gives peace of mind if anything goes wrong.
Thank you 🙏

Lol. They are not considered one of the best. I have no idea where you came up with that. Even LG's B4 (their entry level OLED) is rated higher, overall. LG, Samsung and Sony are all higher rated brands for OLED.

You might want to try looking them up.
Just because they didn't sell in the US doesn't mean they don't compete.

BTW they use master class Oled panels, share some of the processing of their 4k players and supports both DV & HDR10+.

We purchased this tv from Costco and I like it so far. It got a good review from Rtings and after watching some videos on YouTube it stacks up pretty well against the Bravia 7 series.

fyi VRR and local dimming do not work at the same time on this TV so it's not great for gaming. Good for movies and TV though

This is not the old Panasonic.
It is a Chinese generic product sold under name Panasonic who bought the name of the Consumer Panasonic product.

So don't buy if you avoid generic Chinese tvs.

Don't get me wrong, I still have my original Panasonic plasma tv working great that is 20 yr old.
Ah yes, the "great old panasonic" that lied about their plasma black levels not declining over time.

Otherwise, the "new" Panasonic OLEDs have been very well reviewed.
