What's the comparison when you factor in the lower quality product?

I think the quality has been the same level of terrible the whole time. No one ate there because it was good, they ate there because it was $5. Thats why they are struggling now. No one wants to pay $7-$10+ for these. not to mention most places wont even take these coupons

I haven't had one of their sammiches in a while. Has the quality really gone downhill more than back in the day? How much lower can the quality be lol.

I know they now charge for extra/more veggies, which I think is reasonable.

They shouldn't have wasted all of that money to pay athletes and celebrities. Their niche was cheap subs, but they think adding an extra slice of cheese means they can charge premium prices. I haven't had Subway in months as a result.

The quality really hasn't changed over the last decade. They did a big ad campaign called the "Eat Fresh Refresh" which made claims like fresh cut meat, but honestly I didn't notice any difference after this was implemented. They ran very expensive ad campaigns which is one of the factors that has contributed to higher operating costs. They rebranded classics like the spicy italian BMT and jacked the price up. Their prices are now putting them up against premium brands, so there is no reason to go to Subway anymore. I was a huge Subway supporter, but I go to Publix now.

Idk, the bread feels airier than it did years ago. That recipe has changed for the worse.

I swapped from CCC to turkey a while back so can't comment as confidently about meat, but if you told me there was less, I'd believe that too.

I think some corners have been cut, yes.

I am surprised they can't hit grocery store quality levels. Maybe subs are closer to a loss leader at the grocery, but you'd have to convince me. Plenty of folks there for lunch only.

You can get their signature or club series subs at these sale prices, at least at my local Subways. It's 2x's the cheese and 2-3 times the meat. I quit eating at Subway for years after they changed their bread and upped their prices, but honestly getting a footlong sub with double cheese, turkey, ham, roast beef and all the veggies I want for $7 or less isn't that bad. I get two meals out of that.

"Select Subway Restaurants"
YMMV
Depends on your location but in certain areas, franchise owners choose not to honor most promotions.

Amen!
I can't imagine anyone living near a Publix ever going to Subway.

Has anyone ever had a Subway sandwich that looks like the pictures on billboards or on television commercials? They are always loaded with meat and vegetables. I haven't had Subway in many years, but I never would get anything that looked anything close to what they advertise.
