I don't understand why they don't charge $20 more and put in 16gb ram (especially when you can't upgrade)

According to an answered question on the Product Details, memory is soldered & there is no extra memory slot. Hard pass -- friends don't let friends run Windows 11 on 8 GB of memory. Why a manufacturer would do it? Well, I have no idea. Or at least, I can't say anything nice about that.

Honest question: when they give you the product, do they differentiate what's excellent, good and fair condition? Or assume whatever you pay for is whatever you get?

Agree with you. Even Apple upgraded all 8GB Macbooks to 16GB at no extra charge in 2024. Now it's 2025.

I returned this exact model a couple of weeks ago. The 8 gig one was on sale and then the following week the 16 gig one went on sale for the same price. I returned the 8 and got the 16.

To be honest, I hate the keyboards on these Omnibook X Flip models. The keys are much larger than usual and there is no space between them. It's more difficult to type on. I'm not sure what HP was thinking here.

HP does not think, they create product that appear good on paper (except the ram) but does not perform.

SD should just ban all HP product, don't think i ever seen a single good HP product for the past 15 years.

don't get me started on their printer and their ink sub

Soldered RAM should be illegal. Seriously wtf. SSD is replaceable why not RAMs?
