One thing to consider. I had an issue using both the old drive and new drive after cloning. My last PC recognized both as the same drive but one didn't have a boot sector so I had to manually choose which drive to boot from every single time. Formatting woudn't fix it either. The only thing that fixed it was when I did the upgrade from Windows 10 to 11. Could have been something I did or a step I skipped. Maybe it's how Alienware (bought during the mid 2010s bitcoin mining craze when prebuilt was way cheaper than building your own) recognizes boot drive. Never really figured it out.
I've yet to install and clone the current drive to it, but I'll monitor this. I'm using Samsung Magician which is supposed to be good, so hopefully it knows to address this. Now I have to figure out what to do with my old 512GB 970 Pro & 1TB 980 Pro.

When did you get yours? Looks like the only Like New is 146 or so
This past weekend. The $133 price was around for nearly a week, lowest I've seen it in the past month or so. Keep checking, set up a CCC alert, and it'll probably come around again. Although if you really need it $146 isn't too bad.

I used Magician form Samsung to Samsung too expecting it to know and it still happened. It's been a few years so maybe it's been addressed.

There are numerous possibilities. It could be anything from the cloning method to quirks of the motherboard's UEFI. Modern machines don't rely on the boot sector (sector 0) anymore. UEFI systems (assuming they're not using the CSM) rely on bootloaders that are stored in the small EFI partition. When you install an OS (among other operations), an NVRAM variable gets added to the motherboard's UEFI, telling it what bootloader to use and where it's located. It's possible that this did not happen during the cloning process, or that the continued presence of the old drive confused it. When you upgraded to Windows 11, it likely installed a new bootloader and updated the NVRAM configuration on the motherboard, resolving whatever the issue was.

Hmm, I figured that the whole point of cloning was to image a smaller boot drive onto a larger one so the latter could replace it. I know that some people have a small boot drive and a much larger OS drive, but that just seems like a waste of a slot so I've never done it. I'll check for this when I do the cloning. Thanks.

Just picked up a 2TB Evo for $108 (used-Like new). Put it in a Acasis enclosure to use to hold files for my computer and mobile devices. Mainly ROMs.

How do you intend to share it, cross or lengthwise? Seriously, I just gone one myself, just for me, also for $130, at Amazon, for a "Used like new" one. I intend to clone my 1TB 980 Pro to it and use that as my OS drive. The 1TB is down to just over 300GB and I need to install some stuff on it.
Does the broader community have any concerns about purchasing this from mbpc.gg? Seems a little sketch althought it says new in box. Never used or heard of that site. Can these things be counterfeited, or not really possible?
Also, do the "used like new" seem to be unopened like just returns that are essentially brand new / unused?
Thanks!

The "Used - Like New" I got from Amazon indeed looked like an unopened box, with the tape unbroken. However, I was able to peel the tape away without breaking it, so the previous owner might have done that.

But when I installed it and ran Samsung Magician, it said that it was a genuine item that had never been used, and after testing it got basically the speeds that Samsung claimed, 7450/6950 read/write. I then cloned my 1TB 980 Pro onto it, swapped the SSDs, and it's been running fine since.

I have no idea about this vendor, and would never buy an important component from a no name place. Only Amazon, Newegg, Microcenter, Best Buy, Costco, etc. Anyone who buys from one needs to run tests to verify their authenticity.

My understanding is that this SSD is meant for such uses as secondary storage, meaning not your boot/OS drive, for data that's less often accessed.
