Maybe tell us what the size of the knives are at least, especially the chef knife.

I added an image that has all of the knives and sizes that are included in this set.

Just the brand name in the post title told me it was a Staff post.

Save your money and get decent quality knives...the decent knives (not even great quality) don't come in a set and aren't so expensive.

If wanting to look at low price but good quality check out Victorinox or Dexter Russell, this goes on sale for $20 at times:

Restaurant Supply stores can have good deals as well:

I get what you're saying here regarding quality, but you're talking about spending $200-$300 for a similar (but notably) higher quality 10-12 piece-set versus $19.99 here. I don't think people who are interested in a budget set are in the market to pay $200-300.

I agree if you were replacing ALL the knives it would cost that much, you are correct there. But a lot of these knives are irrelevant and don't need to be purchased in the first place.

Someone can easily get the quality knives needed for about $50 if looking second hand or waiting for good deals.

In general, never ever buy a knife set that calls a honing steel, a "sharpening rod".

Exactly lol. I came to say this. A honing steel like what is in this is used to keep a knife's edge in between sharpening, it will not sharpen the knife.

This was never $90. It's a very cheap set made by forced factory workers. It's not high quality whatsoever. If you absolutely need something today and Walmart is the only place to get it, then sure.

If you're not in a hurry, buy a couple of decent ones. A chefs knife, a bread knife, a pairing knife (or two). Sure, it won't be $20, but you can buy all of these knives together for $50 or so bucks and use them for a decade or more

People in the market for knives of this quality don't need anywhere close to every knife in this set. Maybe 3 or 4 of these those people will ever use. Also it's a long term savings not a short term. Rather than buying multiple sets they can keep the others a lifetime.
