Too many moving parts. Bound to fail. If you look on amazon, there's like dozens of generic models from different unknown chinese companies. Good old gravity toilet will last a lifetime with less headaches.

I've had a handheld bidet since I met the now wife - which she's gladly ignored for the past 10+ years.Having just returned from 2 weeks in Japan last week, I've now been tasked to get one of them fancy bidets with heated water, seat, and air drier. Inasmuch as I'd like to pull the trigger on one of these, the house is pretty new and the toilets are technically fine. Other than looks, any reason to go with these than the "seat type" ones? Based on the above comments, not sure if I'm willing to replace toilets (or parts of it) every 2 years.
The seat is fine. We have 2 from Costco, and one is about 10 years old and still working pretty well. The spray wand sometimes fail to extend fully and doesn't quite reach the right part sometimes. I've been meaning to look into that, but it's nothing slightly repositioning my butt doesn't fix so... My biggest issue is that my son hates the heated seat part and keeps turning it off. Not so much of an issue now, but in winter, it definitely was.
I didn't do much research before buying them, and generally trusted the Costco buying department. Given their satisfaction warranty, I figured they wouldn't cheap out what they sell, since that would just come back and bite them in the ass.

I have Toto toilet seat, been 8 years. Zero issues.

Just get Toto bidet and add on to the existing toilet

One of the abnb toilet seats did that; kinda feel like a waste of electricity; wish the heated seat can turn somehow on seconds before sitting - I know I'm asking for the impossible here. Good news is the wife and I have different toilets so she can have hers on 24/7 if she wants.

TOTO SW3084#01 WASHLET C5 is currently on the amazon cart. Figure I'd give the wife a brand-named one and I can use a chinese one to see which lasts longer. I'm also OK not having heated seat lol.

I have this automatic toilet and have same issues after about 2 years. If I were to buy a new toilet - I'd go with some decent "dumb" toilet + smart seat.
I did exactly this. Quality toto toilet then I went with the UX pearl seat. It's been amazing. I did trial run a manual cheap bidet first. That's when I realized there was no going back and upgraded
