Walmart.com says this game's MSRP is actually $49.99. Is that true? Has it already had a permanent price drop? Also is this destined for sub-$20 or should I get it now? I don't want to miss out on the physical version of this. I would hate to see it go out of print.

Looks like it's on sale most places for $25 right now, GameStop is $23. Because the Switch 2 is launching in a few days I would not be surprised if there are additional sales as vendors move older switch 1 merchandise to make space. However it also means that less switch 1 one games will help printed and stocked so there is more of a risk of missing out on a new physical copy. At $25 I doubt you are going to see a sale for more than $5ish cheaper so if you really want a copy now is probably the time to buy.

That's some unassailable logic. The risk of missing out on physical isn't worth holding out for another $5 savings. I went ahead and grabbed it with in-store pickup. I don't have amazon prime, and no GameStops in my area have any copies. So Walmart it is.

PS4 version is also on sale, if anyone would rather get that version.
