Arc'teryx Outlet is currently selling the following NEW items at a discount.
Yes, these are still expensive at the sale price. But these are for climbers who want the best Arc'teryx has to offer: Alpha (for most lightweight) and SV (for severe weather).

Isn't this made in Canada still?

Lot of their jackets are now made in Asia but I think this line is still made in canada. However, the company I believe has been bought by a Chinese company (Anta Sports), which is why the quality may have sank.

Does anyone know if these are slim fit?
Shells are meant to be worn over layers, which is why they're typically oversized.

These are the last ones made with gore tex pfas materials. Some might not like the chemicals on their jackets but the new material they use may have durability issues in the future..

Any cheaper alternatives with armpit ventilation ?
I only need to wear these types of jackets twice a year helping search for missing people or pets charity events.
You can find Arc'teryx Rush for under $500, and it doesn't have a stupid snow skirt.

Not just durability, waterproofing is also suspect.

Plenty of cheaper alternatives with pit zips.

Many if not most hard shell options from Burton, Patagonia, Outdoor Research, and Mountain Hardwear will be cheaper and have pit zips. Some may be for rain while others are for snow.

What exactly makes this worth this money? Or is it just the name? Seriously can anyone show me what is different from a similar jacket from REI Eddie Bauer Or freaking mountain hardware. I can find the same materials with all the same whistles and bells not on sale for a fraction of this sale price. What makes this worth this price?
