Was planning on using it with the cheap 3m plastic red holders, but it's too much tape, so that's disappointing.

I just bought and tried this tape for the 1st time, and I love it!!! It is a better deal than the ones sold at Costco.

The ones in your link have 22.2 yards per roll. The one in the post has 109 yards per roll. You literally get nearly 5x the tape for the same price without the dispenser.

90% of the time i'm using packing tape it's to return something to Amazon. Only fitting that I'm using Amazon branded tape.

The disposable (but reusable) roll dispensers from 3M come in two sizes. There's a review showing it fitting the LARGER one despite the roll having 2x tape length vs 3M. I have 3 or more of those dispensers, so worth a shot.
