I'd love to save the 100 bucks and take the M3 anywayz.... Trying to upgrade from a 2019 Intel MBA, so I'm sure the M3 will be fine for my needs

Yes, the screen. To save money, Apple started assembling some M4 Airs in Vietnam. Maybe they also switched screen suppliers. Using them side-by-side, the M3 screen was more crisp. The M4 I tried was assembled in Vietnam and the M3 I tried was assembled in China.

Doubt anyone would notice TBH unless side-by-side. It's not like M4 screen was "bad" just "not as clear" and for my text-heavy applications this mattered more, along with saving $$$.

However, M4 better in other ways--I liked the M4 keyboard so-much-more.

...wow didnt know the keyboard was different too (still loving my Butterfly keyboard despite the known issues)

It's not as dramatic as when they switched to/from butterfly. The key coating is now anti-fingerprint and less glossy/wobbly, also more flush. Subtle, but noticeable.
