Such a great game. Worth every penny. I found this to be one of the easiest FromSoftware games. The 3rd easiest, in fact. For me, Elden Ring is the easiest. Then Dark Souls 3.
First, before someone gets mad at me (because someone always does) for saying this is on the easier side, I don't mean to imply this is actually an easy game. It isn't. So, please don't buy this thinking, "The guy on SlickDeals said it was easy." I don't know your gaming skill level, so this could very well be the hardest game you've ever played.
People just make it a lot harder than it needs to be, by playing too defensively. The majority of the bosses are easier to take out if you run in and just put the smackdown on them. Seriously. Once I realized that, it made the game a lot easier. Just keep that pressure up. Also get good at the Mikiri Counter. It's not hard to do, I don't know why people have trouble with it. As for the few enemies that attack very rapidly, over and over (like the enemies with those Vega Street Fighter claws), if you just keep rapidly tapping R1 (not as fast as you possibly can, but also fast enough to where you think you're going a little too fast), you'll parry every hit and break their posture bar.
There are certainly some harder parts where those strategies don't really apply, but for the most part, they work really well. The only boss that actually gave me trouble was the Demon of Hatred. I just could not get that one down and got killed A TON. I did finally beat him. Other people slam through him like he's nothing though.
Started and stopped this game like 4 times before actually playing it all the way through. If you play it like any old souls-like you will have a bad time. Once it clicks how to play this is one of the most fun games.
