I have this and it's a terrible product. The coffee to water ratio is completely wrong, the internal screen is awful and lets coffee grounds pass through, and the whole thing is made out of cheap plastic that smells bad.

Seconded. Bought and used once. Then returned. Everything you stated is true of the product.
I have the regular 2qt jar without the strainer and I like it. No weird smells and tritan plastic is quite decent. I'm getting this as a backup and for cold brewing tea.

Huh? They make a plastic one? The one I got around this price is glass. I almost bought a 2nd one. Thanks

They are low profile and less apt to be knocked over like the tall ones I see.
With cold brew you always have a pot sitting around.
They are glass with plastic filter holder.
A key to cold brew is figuring out the coffee amount to use, I found I need only half the filter filled. Coarse ground is best because the water can flow freely. It sucks to pour water into pot only to realize later than the bottom of filter never got soaked. You will get some micro particles despite a filter. When I pour coffee out I toss the last shot glass worth of a dark gravy with some particles. Cold brewing overnight allows more minor sediment
I leave pots overnight but even a few hours can work ok

I own the 2qt have been making iced coffee for 3 years now off it. It's amazing. I fill the basket 3/4 with ground coffee and then fill the water, shake it up and put in fridge sideways for 18 hours. You're welcome
I use lavazza super crema amazing bean for iced coffee
I have good and bad experience with this. I bought one 5 years ago and it still goes strong. Never leaks. Coffee is strong and pure. Because the basket is dirty after years of use, I decided to buy one more (both bottle and basket was only $15, a few bucks more than just a basket). Guess what? It leaked since the moment I washed it before using it. And the lid was bent on one side. I emailed the company and asked them if they can let me send this one back and have a replacement. Emailed back and forth 4 times. I sent them pictures of the issue. They said I need to have video, I sent the video, then they said I need to show them the number something in the bottom. I sent it to them and they said they cannot read it (it's on the plastic so it's hard to see anyway). They said sending it again and again. I decided to return it to amazon. Trying to help this company from returning things from amazon so I attempted to contact them right away but it doesn't seem working this way even I never used it. Just hit and miss I guess but I would not buy it again to save myself headaches and time.
