I purchased the Triumph model for $100 last month for an upcoming trip to Alaska, but these seem like an upgrade for a lower price, so I bought a pair. I don't know much about optics, and even if they're the same quality and clarity, it's still cheaper. The only thing missing is the strap and chest harness, which I'm not sure is worth the $30 charge by BP/Cabela's.

I had the same dilemma, but I noticed the $125 Diamondback model was not the HD model. I don't know if that's a misprint because the Diamondback HD 10x42 was listed as $216 on Amazon.

I think the Diamondback for 125 is the old model. I went ahead and got these since there almost half the price after you work all the discounts and cash back

Honestly, I'm not sure. I like Leupold, though (lifetime warranty, US made). The kit came with a solid bag, chest harness, pen-style lens cleaner w/brush, and a nice pocket knife. It's likely not available through Costco any more, but the item # is 1821936, just for reference.

I'm not too familiar with Vortex, but I haven't really heard anything bad about them, either.
