FYI that these are not zero drop. The heel is 4mm higher than the toe. For those coming from other Altras which might be zero drop, keep this in mind.

Whaaa? Thought Altra only made zero drop. Good call out.
Yeah, that's sort of why I mention it. I've worn Altras for years and when I went to purchase some recently, I was surprised. They do still have zero drop. A couple of their max cushion zero drop runners are the Paradigm 7 and the Via Olympus 2 (not to be confused with the Olympus which is their trail runner). They also got some new stuff coming out this summer.

After using zero drop for several years, I decided to get a pair of Salomon Aero Glide 3, which has 38 mm of stack height but 8 mm of drop. The extra stack height has been quite nice, and they have a really nice bounce to them, but despite being a heel striker myself, I still haven't fully gotten used to the heel drop and want to try a zero drop Altra again. 4mm of drop is not considered substantial though so it might be ok for most people, but just know what you are getting.

If you have wide feet and hate the feeling of cramped toes, these really do have a super wide toe box and you owe it to yourself to try these. They are super comfortable and so far have been pretty durable as well for me. I use them at work.

does the wide toe box make up for the need of wide shoes? Seems like only medium sizes available

Coupon worked fine via text. Pretty good reviews for these on Amazon and many said they are very comfortable with a lot of cushion. I love my Torins and hopefully will like these too. My only complaint with Altras is they don't last too long if you use them daily and unless you buy them from an approved vendor they will not warranty them.

As of June 7, 2025 it appears the deal is dead. When adding the Black/Black model to cart, it shows up as $159.99 (the same price as the other colorways). Too bad, I was looking forward to trying this model from Altra. I have been a fan of the Lone Peak hiking shoes and the Outroad 2 trail runners. I don't find the outsoles very durable on the models I own though.

These ended up being true to size! And I have wide feet. Narrow shoes like Nike would require me to go up a size.

Yes. They do apparently.
