I've been using a windows on ARM for 3-4ish months now. I bought my laptop for productivity and portability, not gaming.

I love the shit out of it. I was on my laptop around 5-6 hours last night watching videos and having multiple Excel and browser tabs open. Nothing too intense, just normal use. Closed it last night at 64% battery, and it said it has 10+ hours left.

That battery indicator is obviously lying, but I'd say with an 80% charge I can pretty reliably get 10 hours of normal use.

Only app compatibility issue is Discord. It's the only Non-Arm app that does it, but it's just a little laggy to click and type. Audio and vid are fine, though.

For normal users not looking to game, I highly recommend Windows ARM.

It does have a fan, but I never hear it, and I never really notice it hot. That said, I got the 16GB model with the OLED screen for around $900. I already had the keyboard and pen. I think this would be the right price if it had the OLED screen. I can tell you 16GB is not enough. Once Windows on ARM reaches 85% RAM utilization, it starts crapping out with hiccups and becomes unusable until you open Task Manager and close some programs that are using RAM... I would have paid $1200 for 32GB OLED, but not the $2200 they were charging at the time.

I've been using Windows on ARM for three or four years, it's come a long way. As far as compatibility, you need to check out what's happened in the ARM world lately.

43% off. Sounds about right given the artificially inflated MSRP (MSFT tries to charge 10x retail for RAM and SSD space) and the limitations of Windows on ARM. If only it were x86... it wouldn't need to be 43% off to find a home...

I never have issues with Windows unless it was my own doing. It must be your hardware or some piece of software you have installed. I work on computers with Windows all day at work (Surface 3) and use my self built PC at home.

I actually have more issues on my Linux boxes than my Windows boxes.
