While the 16gb is enticing for local AI - don't do it (for AI). ROCm isn't there yet… For gaming however, solid deal.

Holding out for a good 5070ti price personally.

I think we're finally getting a microcenter in my city but it's going to be ~ 2 years. Would be nice to get a modern GPU for ~$350.

Agreed. The 8GB card is a scam to rip off the technologically naive. It's a fatally limited card that should not exist and should never be purchased for anything over $150-200 with eyes wide open that even current games may be unplayable at 1080p. Buyer beware!

Agreed on the price, but not quite on board with "unplayable." Maybe at Ultra settings, but if you're shopping in the xx60 category then that's probably not what you're expecting to play. (Unless, like you said, you're technologically naive.)

I say that as someone who has used xx60/ti cards the entirety of my PC gaming history, starting with a GTX 660.

This is 100% true . I don't like what Nvidia was doing so I bought a 9070xt . The AI works ok in their own program called Amuse , but when I tried to install comfyui or any other AI program locally. Have to do soo many work arounds it's not worth it. I hate Nvidia but have to go with them just for AI I don't really care for games. I did test some triple A games on the AMD card. The card was so solid the fans didn't even spin up most of the time .

Not that great of a price - sub $300 you kind of impulse buy. But quality card. Can't comment with knowledge on the overclock and quality of ASRock's active cooling.
AMD continues to dominate the performance per watt category, which dedicated gamers overlook because it's irrelevant to them, but matters to casual gamers that often run PCs with proprietary PSUs. Consider at your own risk, but a 400W PSU should be able to power this fine with a modern CPU and no additional load heavy devices provided that you don't max everything out all of the time. If you do consistently heavy workloads like mining crypto, then obviously go with the recommended 550W+ PSU.

Better than 5060 Ti, faster, cheaper and double memory, in the future the difference will be even bigger.

The RTX 5060 8GB costs $300 and is over 10% slower.
The 5060 Ti 8GB is $380 for just a 2% boost up to 1440p.
The 5060 Ti 16GB runs $430 for a 3% gain.

And at $2,000 for a 5090? They can go fly a kite, even if it were 10% slower and priced the same.

I have 7900XT in a Windows PC strictly for gaming, and my daily driver is a Linux machine with an RX 570. I don't know why his story is unbelievable to you.
Cause he went out of his way to talk about a 3070. Read between the lines

vote for 1! I totally agree. I am glad to see AMD now competing Nvidea with new GPUs to lower the monopoly ridiculous high pricing.

They just want to upsell you on 16gb version. Get 16gb as 8gb is very limiting even at 1080p in modern games. I get frequent low on vram messages while gaming on 3070ti 8gb.
