Seriously. I've been wanting to give them a shot but can't justify it with the markups. Cheapest I found was $730.

Better than 5060 Ti, faster, cheaper and double memory, in the future the difference will be even bigger.
Nvidia sucks, but your post is completely misinformed. It's almost always slower than the 5060ti. And both the 9060XT and 5060ti have 8GB & 16GB variants, so the double memory claims is also misinformed.
If you meant to say 5060, then you'd be 100% correct.

I was near the Chicago microcenter today and didn't go in. I have 3 cards. 7900XTX, 3070 OC as my daily driver and the A770 for my arcade pc that never came to be because of Balatro. Here is a comparison video to an RTX 3070. https://youtu.be/YcY_eUTuRvo?si=Bs7PPgJAtyCei9Bs
what is this "daily drive" gpu? it is not a car that rides differently or have varying cargo space. you can use the best performing one for everything.

They just want to upsell you on 16gb version. Get 16gb as 8gb is very limiting even at 1080p in modern games. I get frequent low on vram messages while gaming on 3070ti 8gb.
i dont think that is what "upsell" means.

I doubt you have an xtx if you daily drive a crappy 3070.
This card is better than a 3070 anyway, no ifs and buts about it
My 6700xt is on my main computer (my daily) and a 5070 TI in my sim racing rig. I probably use my 6700xt for gaming just as much as my 5070...but enjoy the racing a lot more.

Yea but notice you're not comparing benchmarks with your 6700xt or trying to upsell it

These are great cards if you can get one at msrp. I was able to grab a Sapphire Pulse version off newegg when they launched, its a great upgrade if you are on a 7600/4060 or below. With minor tweaking, it scored a 16945 on time spy, compared to the 10840 by the 7600 it replaced.

That's Nvidia's claim, but don't those numbers lean hard on framegen?

Personally I think that if possible, it makes the most sense to just sit out this generation of cards. Offerings from both sides are underwhelming.

Yes, that claim has basically been proven fraudulent at this point.

I wouldn't trust those weird ai videos. But a 9060xt is on par with a 5060ti..both are faster than a 6700xt

It's not a massive upgrade tho

I had picked up an Arc B580 about a month back for $250, still unopened, wondering if I should get this instead...would strictly be 1080p gaming for now (plus lots of Photoshop).

12GB RAM with not much gaming support?
No question to ask just return and get Radeon or GeForce

No one buys sIntel GPUs nor CPUs these days if you are smart.

B580 could get for $250 or less
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/inte....p?cmp=RMX

The B580 values just go down toilet

PS - for Photoshop, CAD, etc. it would better to have at least 16GB vs 12GB for now and also future. If try to save a few hundreds by buying, you would find yourself you will find you need to buy a new one. Same for the Core i7 or i9 CPUs, you might think you got a deal but in the future you need to get a new M-Board.

I have 7900XT in a Windows PC strictly for gaming, and my daily driver is a Linux machine with an RX 570. I don't know why his story is unbelievable to you.

I love my 7900XT, and it is my daily PC. The card has performed beautifully.
